We are in need of a self-motivated, goal oriented, and organized individual for the Collections Team to support our global vision and strategy. This role will support the North American Collections managers and report to the Senior Collections Manager. This role will be hands-on, and strategic and will serve as the key point person for overall collections in NAM, administrative support to outside collection agencies, and act as a liaison for the client and our internal CS team. As a remote-first, global organization Jeeves is committed to building a team as diverse as the companies we serve.
Location: This role is a full-time remote position. #LI-Remote
**Responsibilities**:
- Collect payments on past due loans
- Maintain and update collections lists and track delinquency
- Locate customers using collections and skip tracing tools
- Make outbound calls to delinquent clients
- Inform clients of overdue accounts and amount currently owed and collect payments
- Ensure all customer information is correct, including phone numbers and addresses.
- Set up repayment plans as required
- Update and maintain credit bureau updates
- Report satisfied debts to credit bureaus.
- Follow federal and state/province/country laws dealing with debt collection.
- Review client/OCA placement files and refer weekly
- Maintain records of outsourced clients and liaise between collections and OCA
- Coordinate remittance and recall from processes OCA
- Maintain document sharing with OCA through designated FTP site
- Reconcile OCA/Collections/client records where dispute is present
- Reconcile small balance w/off and FX issues on client account
**Requirements**:
- 5+ years of experience in outbound collections
- 3+ years of experience in OCA management or 3rd Party Collections
- 5+ years experience in commercial/B2B collections
- Knowledge or banking laws and regulations - global collections a plus
- Debt collector’s license where applicable (outside the US)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to maintain and build production metrics
- Able to pivot quickly with the changing environment
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Ability to identify issues, evaluate and measure impact to business and provide business solutions
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with difficult individuals or situations
- Fluent in English, Jeeves is a global company and English is the language we use internally to communicate between regions
- French or Spanish Speaking a plus
- Collaborative and team oriented
- High school diploma or equivalent certification
