**The Opportunity**:
WSP has a new and exciting opportunity for a Field Director to join our Heritage team in our Fort St. John, BC location.

**A day in the life**:
As an Archaeological Field Director, your responsibilities will include:

- Leading archaeological field programs while maintaining compliance with Heritage Conservation Act permits;
- Working in a variety of environments, such as all-weather conditions, rugged and semi-remote locations, and overnight accommodations in a camp or hotel setting;
- Participating in Indigenous community relationship-building by working closely with community members in the field in a respectful and collaborative manner;
- Undertaking analysis and preparing sections of technical reports and site forms;
- Supervising junior staff and Indigenous workers where appropriate;
- Participating in WSP’s Health & Safety program;
- Demonstrating a “Safety First” focus and acting as a role model to other staff; Complying with WSP’s Fit for Duty policy.

**What you'll bring to WSP...**
- An undergraduate degree in Archaeology or Anthropology with relevant cultural resource management experience
- Subarctic Boreal Forest Field Director status in good standing
- Experience identifying, recording, and evaluating the full range of archaeological site types expected in the Subarctic Boreal Forest culture area
- An aptitude for working collaboratively with Indigenous communities
- Proficiency with standard data collection equipment including GPS and hand-held tablets
- Proven oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- An ability to contribute to a positive teamwork environment as well as to work independently
- Solid MS Office skills
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5) ATV/UTV and First Aid Certification would be considered an asset

**Compensation**

Expected Salary (all locations): $72 600 - $123 400

WSP Canada is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it will pay for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to the specific geographic location.
