**Job Description**:
***:Carries out after hours dispatch duties and watchperson detail as required for buildings under the jurisdiction of the City of Thunder Bay.

**MAJOR TASKS**:

- Receives records and relays telephone and radio inquiries between base radio and appropriate personnel.
- Provides general information & directions to telephone inquiries, documents information according to Departmental policy & procedures.
- Participates in the preparation, assignment & maintenance of an automated customer service order system including resolution data, monitoring & report preparation.
- Provides dispatch support for after hour and emergency crews.
- Patrols municipal buildings and/or yard facilities as assigned, to guard against fire and vandalism.
- Checks all doors and windows to ensure building security.
- Records all vehicle movements in and out of yard after regular working hours.
- Reports irregularities in heating, electrical and conditioning systems noted during patrols.
- Maintains weather watch and advises supervisor of abnormal weather conditions which require attention (summer and winter).
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education/Experience**:

- Secondary school graduation diploma; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Must have good customer service skills and be courteous and tactful in dealing with the public;
- Must be at a basic skill level in keyboarding, word processing, and spreadsheet software;
- Willingness to work weekends and shift work essential;
- Be familiar with the geographic layout of the City and area of responsibility covered by each supervisor.

**CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
