- The University of the Fraser Valley Student Union Society (SUS) is a BC Not-For-Profit Society representing and serving UFV students. The Society manages the Student Union Building and facilitates services such as the UFV U-Pass, food services, and the student health and dental plan. SUS also provides support to an active community by organizing events and provides wellness and developmental programming. As the official representative body of UFV students, our mission is to be an inclusive community that provides high-quality, accessible programs and services. We are the unified voice advocating on behalf of student interests in the UFV community, ensuring each student has opportunities to thrive._

**Work Schedule**: Full Time 40 hrs per week (Mon-Fri)

**Compensation**: $45,000

**Reporting to**: Programs and Services Manager

**Location**: Abbotsford

Are you a creative and organized collaborator with a passion for JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion)? The Student Union Society is currently searching for a passionate and charismatic team player looking for an opportunity to grow and execute their creative ideas.

The Programs Coordinator will have hands-on involvement in a variety of programs including, Angel Tree, JEDI Chronicles, and the Student Perks Program. This role will create new innovative ways to raise campus awareness within the four SUS Program pillars; JEDI, Leadership and Skills, Health and Wellness, and Community and Innovation. This role requires active collaboration across departments and liaison with external parties such as vendors, suppliers, and local companies, ensuring all programs and events fall within our mission, vision, and values. As the Programs Coordinator, you will require expertise in time management, strategic planning and communication.
- Collaborate and brainstorm with all Student Union Society teams
- Plan, arrange and facilitate programs and events for UFV Community.
- Provide monitoring and evaluation data through the development and completion of feedback questionnaires and surveys.
- Support Student Union Society campaigns and work cohesively with the Student Executives.
- Continue the success of the Angel Tree Program by increasing participation and completing developmental and daily tasks.
- Develop the JEDI Chronicles Program by increasing participation and completing operational organization.
- Create and execute Trades and Technologies Campus specialty programs and build a relationship with the Hospitality and Event Planning Program.
- Build the Student Perks Program and be the point of contact for community businesses and interdepartmental communication.
- Propose creative ways to recognize and acknowledge days and months of observance
- Assist in the planning of annual events such as Kickback and the SPP Market.

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**

**Programs and Events**: A minimum of 1 year of experience in creating Community Programs and/or events.

**JEDI Experience**:Recognizing the importance of JEDI initiatives as well as knowing how to administer them in community setting.

**Organizational and Time Management Skills**:Be able to set project priorities, conduct needs assessments and successfully execute projects within a specified timeframe.

**Teamwork Skills**:Must be able to collaborate, and support staff operations at SUS and work actively on improving the programs that SUS offers.

**Computer Literacy**:High level of computer literacy including intermediate level experience with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

**COMPENSATION**:
$45,000 annually, with 6% matching RRSP contribution and a comprehensive Health & Dental benefits plan. Paid time off includes 12 days vacation in addition to a winter break (typically 10 business days at the end of December). This position also receives a monthly cell phone allowance.
