**Job Summary**:
The Starfish Pack Coordinator oversees the daily fulfillment of the Starfish Pack Program. This position is responsible for the coordination of program volunteers, including recruitment, screening, onboarding, placement, and volunteer recognition. Additionally, this position is responsible for creating and costing food menus for the school and summer Starfish Pack program. The Starfish Pack Program coordinator is responsible for onboarding and communicating with clients, schools, and all Provincial Starfish Pack locations, coordinating packaging of food and overseeing the distribution of food. This position involves coordinating and participating donor recognition activities. The Starfish Pack Program Coordinator supports the Program Supervisor, the Manager, and the Director of Advocacy and Social Equity in adopting and implementing a human rights/equity based social justice lens to food related activities at the Food Bank.

**Your Role**:

- Coordinating the daily operation of the Starfish Pack program year-round, including the Summer Starfish Pack program.
- Drafting communication messages to volunteers, schools, starfish pack locations, and websites including newsletters, and reports as necessary.
- Coordinating the registration and on-boarding process of all clients, locations, and schools.
- Maintaining the schedule of volunteers and distribution days.
- Working alongside Food Bank drivers to ensure distribution of food packages.

**Our Offer**

- A permanent, full-time position at 35 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

**Getting an Interview - you will be considered if you have**:

- High school Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Post-secondary education would be an asset.
- Valid class 5 BC Driver’s License and a clean Driver’s Abstract.
- Experience in a customer service position.
- Experience driving a van or larger vehicle, is an asset.
- Experience coordinating and directing volunteers, is an asset.

**The Job Requires you to have**:

- Strong verbal, written, and active listening communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and varying levels of English.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to balance and manage competing projects and priorities.
- Well-developed relationship building and networking skills for building rapport with clients, volunteers, suppliers, and other stakeholders, while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Strong computer competency, ability to use Microsoft Office365, virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good understanding of safe working procedures, including Food Safety, and Health and Safety policies and regulations, and the ability to train volunteers based on those requirements.
- Good working knowledge of the issues, barriers and impacts encompassing food insecurity, homelessness, and housing.
- This position has direct, in-person contact with on-site staff and clients; adherence to health and safety protocols is required.
- This position may include periods of constant motion, including walking, lifting or carrying items up to 50lbs, and may include extended periods of sitting and screen/keyboard use.
- Willingness and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
