Autism Nova Scotia delivers programming in Halifax and in nine communities across Nova Scotia through our Regional Autism Centres. Our three program divisions are: Social & Community Inclusion; Employment Support; and Family and Caregiver Support.
**POSITION TITLE**:COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR - HALIFAX**
**POSITION**:Full-time employment 40 hours / week
**DIRECT REPORT**:Manager of Community Events and Giving
**PROGRAM SUMMARY**:
The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the fundraising efforts of Autism Nova Scotia. As a member of the Development department, the Community Engagement Coordinator reports directly to the Manager of Community Events and Giving and oversees a portfolio focused on donor data management and receipting, stewardship and membership support and promotion.
**Responsibilities Include**:
- To adhere to all policies and procedures including those identified in the Code of Conduct
- Act as lead on Autism Nova Scotia donor data management and receipting.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from donors, partners, and supporters
- Support and/or lead initiatives such as the Joan Craig Trail Blazer Award, annual Volunteer Recognition celebrations, the Sheelagh Nolan Award for Excellence in Teaching, Amy Farnell Education Awards, Autism Aviators, and our Provincial Holiday Open House
- Manage ANS membership portfolio through promotion, data entry, and communication.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Undergraduate degree in relevant related field (including administration, business, humanities, etc) or equivalent experience accepted
- Up to date Current CPR First Aid Certification
- Clear, current Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search
- Clear, current Child Abuse Registry Check
**Minimum Knowledge and Experience**
- Knowledge and experience working with individuals with autism.
- Knowledge and experience being part of a small team and assisting as required.
- 3-5 years of experience working in fundraising, communications or other relevant field
- Good leadership skills
**Minimum skills and ability**:
- Ability to learn quickly and work with mínimal supervision.
- Strong administration and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM)
- Strong organizational skills, analytical skills, and keen attention to detail
- Effective communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks as well as manage long
- and short-term assignments simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to exercise sound judgement, tact and discretion when dealing with others is essential.
- Must exhibit passion, enthusiasm, and initiative.
