**Job Summary**
- The Department of Economics, in the Faculty of Science, teaches students to better understand society’s current economic challenges and various policy tools so that they can contribute to the society as professional economists or as researchers. Reporting to the Chair, the Department Administrator provides direction and advice to the Chair and is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day administration across all teaching and research activities of the Department, including personnel management, financial administration, physical resource management, academic planning/implementation, student affairs, and internal and external liaison functions.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Administer and monitor research contract, endowment, operating, donation and gift accounts for the Department of Economics. Reconcile department financial accounts monthly, analyze and explain variances.
- Provide support to the Department’s academic programs, working closely with undergraduate and graduate coordinators on matters such as timetabling, calendar entries, scholarships, etc.
- Respond to routine inquiries from students referring to Program Coordinators or Chair, as appropriate.
- Responsible for overseeing physical and digital resources and assets for the department, acts as the main contact for facilities management regarding any maintenance and renovation projects.
- Manage administrative functions; supervises two clerical employees, includes hiring, training, assigning duties, and performance management.

**Note**
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**
- University degree with five years relevant work experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Strong financial and personnel management skills.
- High level of computer proficiency.
- Exceptional interpersonal organizational and supervisory skills.
- Strong ability to problem solve and anticipate issues.
