**About the Opportunity**:
The Secretary F is responsible for comprehensive administrative support to the Department of Emergency Medicine with specific responsibilities to the Site Chief and the Medical Director of EHS Life Flight. This position will also provide support to the emergency physicians who do not have assigned administrative support. Dealing with a wide variety of highly sensitive and confidential material, the Secretary employs considerable skills in the areas of communication, information technology, organization and time management.
- Provides oversight of the emergency physician scheduling process and assisting with payroll processes, including updating and inputting schedules, producing payroll reports, producing reports for COO as required, training and use of the scheduling program by emergency physicians and other staff members.
- Provide back-up administrative support to the Zone Head and his/her Administrative Assistant as required, and the IWK Chief and his/her Administrative Assistant.
- Manage and update the QEII Patient Care, and Quality webpages on the Dalhousie and NSH Department of Emergency Medicine websites (content writing, photography and video) as an integral part of the Department of Emergency Medicine communications strategy.
- This requires working with the Site Chiefs and physician leaders and requires in-depth knowledge of the Content Management Software for both NSH and Dalhousie.
- Assist with the clinical content of the Departments annual report. Ensure web based information is archived for future needs and reference.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Grade 12 plus graduate of a recognized office administration, business or secretarial program required
- Minimum three (3) years Secretarial / Administrative experience required
- Medical terminology considered an asset
- IAAP Certified Administrative Professional Certification considered an asset
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing and organizational skills
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information, including patient information
- Ability to problem-solve effectively and independently, accessing resources and assistance as required
- Ability to work independently, with mínimal supervision
- Ability to take initiative, employ creativity and leadership
- Previous experience creating and maintaining complex schedules considered an asset
- Recent medical secretarial experience in an academic or healthcare setting is an asset
- Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm
- Excellent computer skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in common office productivity software (ie. Microsoft office)
- Ability to learn and work quickly; adaptable to change
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Hours of Work**:
Short Assignment, Full-Time (70 hours biweekly)
Beginning May 15, 2023 until November 15, 2023.

**Salary Information**:
$24.96 - $27.61 hourly
$45,424 - $50,242 annually
