Summary:
Within the context of a client and family centred model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care, the person promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff.

Reporting the Program Leader or designate, the Program Coordinator contributes to the development, maintenance and advancement of the Program in collaboration with the Program Leader and other program staff. This requires participation in the planning and execution of both the strategic and operational components of the Program in order to fulfill the goals of the program. Functions overseen by this position include; program content, communication, coordination and delivery; partner (internal and external) contribution and participation; and project, administrative, budgetary, and reporting and evaluation support.

Qualifications / Skills and Education:
**Education**:

- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, social sciences, health care administration or a related field, plus three (3) to five (5) years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of Additional education, training and/or experience in communications, project management, research assistance, or a related discipline an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ability to implement, and demonstrated knowledge of, project management, process coordination, and quality improvement skills.
- Ability to conduct detailed research (such as literature and best practice initiatives) and to analyse findings.
- Ability to plan, multi-task, organize, problem-solve and prioritize work.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels internally and externally.
- Ability to work independently using initiative and judgment.
- Ability to type proficiently.
- Ability to effectively use a variety of computerized software, databases and systems (such as Microsoft Office 2000 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Reference Manager and Internet Explorer.)
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
