The Financial Analyst will:

- Demonstrate an understanding of how the team and business area contributes to the business unit
- Use basic knowledge of the business to address common and short-term business issues
- Seek feedback from business partners and peers to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

**What will you do?**
- Support the monthly and quarterly financial statement close process leading to quarterly AVP and VP sign offs
- Support the monthly sales forecast, multi-year planning and annual budgeting process for GRS: create templates, input data, resolve issues and interact with staff and leaders across the company
- Support the monthly and quarterly assets under administration (AUA) reporting
- Assist with timely and accurate monthly and quarterly report production, providing key input and analysis. May own the creation of several key outputs looked upon by management and leaders to help gauge expense or broader financial performance
- Investigate and effectively communicate issues with the creation and distribution of reports; assist in the resolution of these issues
- Liaise with key partners such as Canadian Finance, Expense Management, Savings Accounting, Pricing, Fund Operations, and others
- Develop and improve financial tools and reporting processes to support strategic initiatives and evolving reporting requirements

**What do you need to succeed?**
- University degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in the finance field
- Advanced excel skills; ability to summarize large amounts of data to isolate business drivers and articulate findings
- Ability to accurately communicate financial results

**Preferred**:

- CPA or another accounting designation
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Prior insurance industry experience is preferred
- Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, and Analysis for Office (AFO)
