As a member of the Global Finance Strategy team reporting to the Director, Finance Initiative and Portfolio Management, the Senior Business Analyst will perform a key role in the ongoing management of the Finance initiative portfolio management process and function. A ‘project portfolio management office’ (value realization office) has being established to manage and steer a backlog of initiatives post IFRS 17 implementation. These initiatives include process improvements and system optimizations that will support the global Business Groups and Corporate functions across our global shared Finance, Actuarial and ALM teams. The Senior Business Analyst has deep knowledge of a wide variety of business concepts, practices, and procedures and general Finance operations; The Senior business Analyst conducts needs analysis, writes requirements, collaborates with others for system and process design and supports teams to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Facilitate the identification of business and IT process improvements; manage and track key issues, risks, decisions, and actions
Work with the Product Owners/Project Managers to conduct analysis on business requests with a focus on the links between processes and systems throughout the organization
Analyze and define user requirements with global business partners and work with IT to translate them into system requirements/user stories
Experience with varying requirements gathering techniques
Skilled in Microsoft Office suite of products; Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and Miro is an asset
Knowledge of overall financial services industry
Comfortable with data requirements and related data activities
Strong communication skills with ability to communicate both complex business and technical concepts and align organization on decisions
Big picture and strategic thinker, visionary and creative in both perspective and methodologies
Strong interpersonal / relationship building skills with business and technical personnel
