**What you'll do**:

- Collaborate with the Operations team to prioritize data, information requests, and to analyze requirements and set scope of analytic projects.
- Build and maintain detailed and accurate Datamart's of historical SCIC data, to meet the current and future actuarial and analytical needs of SCIC.
- Design and build models that manipulate and explore data and business insights to identify key opportunities or business risk.
- Conduct research projects and contribute to SCIC’s Business Modernization journey.
- Proactively assess the quality of data and implement processes to address data anomalies.
- Prepare and present data in charts, graphs, tables, dashboards and presentations to translate insights into actionable business solutions.
- Leverage understanding of the business needs to proactively identify opportunities through data analysis.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure that data and statistical insights are effectively communicated through the most appropriate data visualization and navigation tools.
- Support initiatives and projects as they pertain to data warehouse environments; assist with managing and aggregating transactional data to ensure there is a ‘single version of the truth’ for forecasting and reporting.
- Detailed tasks may include supporting the Research and Development team to enhance redundancy testing processes for audit assurance on our actuarial products, and to validate customer-facing documents in near-production testing conditions.
- Replicate the premium rate calculation spreadsheets created by the actuarial team to validate results.
- Create the load documents that IT uses to load tables values required for upcoming sales and crop year.
- Recreate calculations to test the loaded values and the system calculated, customer-facing documents against the original calculations in the automated system.

**Qualifications**:

- To be successful in this position you will need degree in Computer Science with a minimum of two years’ experience in data analytics within a business environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. (i.e. A degree in Applied Math, Statistics and Agriculture economics, with 4 years’ experience in data analytics).
- Demonstrated experience with dashboards and reporting tools.
- Analytical skills, with the ability to gather, manipulate, analyze and synthesize large volumes of data, facts, figures and numbers.
- Organizational skills, and keen attention to detail to complete a variety of complex and detailed tasks effectively.
- Advanced experience in data analysis and visualization tools (i.e. Pivot tables, charts, lookup tables).
- Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into reports and/or verbal presentations that speak effectively to business audiences at varying levels of understanding.
- Technical skills inclusive of, but not limited to creating SQL Queries with python and/or R considered an asset.
