Job Description/Duties:

- Project Overseeing: Oversee and plan all aspects of purchasing from Pre-bid to Closeout.
- Documentation Preparation: Prepare procurement-related documentation, including procurement plans, risk assessments, Subcontract Agreements, Vendor Purchase Orders, and General Service Agreements.
- Project Meetings Participation: Attend and actively participate in all procurement-related project meetings to understand job site needs and requirements.
- Contract Preparation, Review, and Negotiation: Prepare, review and analyze contract documents to define scope, inclusions, and exclusions. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to achieve optimal value while adhering to quality standards.
- Cost Savings Analysis: Analyze project specifications to identify procurement needs and opportunities for cost savings. Implement cost-saving initiatives and value engineering strategies to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Negotiate and finalize contract agreements for various construction projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and budgetary constraints.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory laws, industry standards, and company policies throughout the procurement process. Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks to safeguard project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder interests.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with project teams to understand the technical scope, review plans and drawings, and coordinate purchasing activities. Communicate effectively with project teams, departments, and suppliers to facilitate procurement activities and address any issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, contract management, and supplier negotiation, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and specifications.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple procurement activities and projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, and the ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
