**What you do**
- As a member of the management team that is accountable for the efficient and effective day-to-day delivery of services across assigned Forensic Psychiatric Services (FPS) clinical operations. Supervise all assigned clinical and support resources. Manage service area operations by assessing and monitoring staff/client ratios and supplies based on client acuity and staff skill level.
- Direct the strategic planning process and coordinates the process of operational planning across the assigned clinical program in collaboration with the Regional Director. Integrate specific goals and objectives into the activities of the clinical services ensuring linkages with individual performance plans, and quality management initiatives.
- Provide leadership in service development and planning activities through work groups and projects; monitors progress and outcomes. Initiate, recommend, implement and evaluate objectives, policies and procedure, and standards of clinical practice related to client care.
- Ensure that human resource plans address the recruitment and retention issues for the program. Create, implement and evaluate an effective workforce plan for the program in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders that ensure the availability of adequate staff within the context of operational demands and environmental and resource constraints.
- Liaise and partner with other community based services and departments, as necessary to ensure provision of timely and quality care for clients. Work in partnership with Health Authorities, Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Courts, Probation Services, Correctional Centres, and all other community stakeholders.
- Evaluate individual and team performance. Implement effective performance development and performance management processes in an interdisciplinary team environment. Oversee all aspects of human resource management within the portfolio including investigating work and staff issues, initiating disciplinary action up to and including termination, administration of policies and procedures, implementation of corporate initiatives, programs and services. Support clarity of roles, adherence to accreditation and practice standards and safe delivery of services/care.

**What you bring**
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in a related health profession from an accredited University.
- Current practicing registration with a relevant professional association.
- Minimum of seven (7) years recent related clinical experience including two (2) years working in a managerial/leadership capacity in a clinical setting.

- Demonstrate understanding and experience of quality assurance process, operational planning and program development.

- Demonstrate problem resolution and critical thinking skills.
- Be self-directed and highly motivated.
- Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary care team.
- Understand and work with community based agencies.
- Travel.
- Demonstrate physical ability to perform the duties of the job
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments found in the foundational documents - including Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan and Remembering Keegan: A First Nations Case Study - and how they intersect across the health care system.
- Supports team members on their ongoing learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to eradicate Indigenous-specific racism and discrimination and embed Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.\
- Ensure integration of the legislative obligations and provincial commitments into policies, procedures and programs prior to engaging IH teams/departments.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).\
