Reporting to the Lead, Red Tape Reduction, the Corporate Initiatives Lead manages high-profile projects within Jobs, Economy and trade that have a positive impact on our employees, our partners and the people we serve.

The position is responsible for leading and coordinating a portfolio of corporate level projects. These include the implementation of corporate programs within the ministry, such as the department’s Occupational Health and Safety program. The position also provides direct support to executive leadership for crucial projects such as IT planning. As a trusted colleague, you’ll also provide project and portfolio management advice and expertise to client areas across the ministry.

The Corporate Initiatives Lead is expected to:

- Lead and manage corporate initiatives using sound project management principles and approaches to ensure that the ministry meets its targets.
- Engage and motivate cross-divisional participation and input while executing corporate initiatives. Monitor and evaluate the impact of corporate initiatives on a regular basis, with a view to improve tracking and projected performance.To be effective in this role, you need to be a strong communicator (verbally and in writing) and able to build relationships throughout the ministry to influence and support outcomes. Political acumen, agility, and the ability to approach politically sensitive matters in a confidential, proactive, and positive manner are necessary. A working knowledge of the software tools used to carry out job responsibilities (primarily Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams and Adobe Acrobat), project management skills, and the ability to consistently meet hard deadlines are essential.

- University graduation in a related field plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
