**Position Description**

The Business Manager, Human Environment works to communicate and implement TWC’s vision, strategy, operating plan, and expectations to achieve performance targets for their business line. The Business Manager, Human Environment is primarily a management role, with a secondary focus on project work. They are responsible for overseeing and supporting TWC’s Team Leads in providing industry-leading, high-quality services and deliverables.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Business Line Management_
- Preserve and improve the standard of products and services delivered to the TWC clients. Work with PMO, Quality Manager and Technical Leads to implement quality management and control processes throughout TWC operations.
- Analyze systems to increase efficiency and productivity and provide recommendations to improve current operations.
- Participate as a senior resource in business development activities, including participating in pursuit teams.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with industry, government and Indigenous Nations and external stakeholders to generate repeat business.
- Participate in local and national professional associations as applicable.
- Team Management_
- Provide leadership by communicating TWC’s operational expectations to Team Leads and direct reports. Implement and enforce company policies and practices.
- Manage and mentor Team Leads to optimise the performance of their team and support the development of their supervisory and management skills.
- Guide team members in administrative, interpersonal, and professional development items.
- Lead the performance management cycle for Team Leads and direct reports, including goal setting and performance reviews, and training plans.
- Conduct one on one meetings with Team Leads and direct reports monthly to resolve personnel issues and confirm progress on employee targets.
- Conduct quarterly skip level meetings with all team members.
- Lead by example to promote a positive and progressive team Health & Safety culture.
- Manage and approve time off schedules as well as timesheets for Team Leads and direct reports.
- Resourcing and Staffing_
- Manage all resourcing and project allocations within the business line in collaboration with Project Managers, Quality Manager, and Team Leads.
- Collaborate with Technical Leads in identifying training and skill gaps and implementing training plans to meet company development needs.
- Monitor utilization levels and resolve utilization issues with team members.
- Analyse resourcing for business line and provide recommendations on workforce planning, recruitment, or redundancy.
- Lead recruiting efforts with the Human Resources department for business line.
- Project Work_
- Contribute to and conduct reviews of project deliverables within one or more of TWC’s service areas.
- Act as a senior resource for the team and mentor team members in developing technical expertise and consulting skills.

Other related duties as may be required.

**Qualifications**
- A graduate degree in a related field and/or other continuing education or professional designation is preferred. An undergraduate degree with substantial supporting experience in environmental and social consulting may be accepted.
- 10+ years of relevant and progressive experience, including professional consulting experience and managing teams of diverse professionals.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate individuals with a variety of communication and personality traits.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality customer service while balancing competing interests (e.g., time/cost/risk/liability).
- Demonstrated experience authoring technical reports and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Motivated, positive team player, who collaborates effectively and respectfully with others.
- Indigenous lived experience is an asset.

**Working Location**

Work will be typically performed in one of TWC’s offices. Some project assignments may require a presence at client sites, including offices, project operations, communities, and other premises.

**Travel**

Occasional travel will be required to achieve the duties and responsibilities above to serve the needs of clients and TWC_._
