Operating out of Richmond Hill ON, WaveStar Networks is a Canadian company with over 15 years’ experience providing a wide array of critical infrastructure and network services as well as professional and consulting services to telecommunication/ISP providers, data center operators and corporate/business/public sector customers.

**Opportunity**:
WaveStar Networks is seeking a **Freelance Technical Writer** to help our executive team write company documents such as Policy and Operating procedure manuals.

The writer would work closely with the executive branch to curate the right content to get the contextual information correct and easy to understand. This requirement includes for the working process of modernizing existing documentation, collaborating with others, writing, editing, drawing, reviewing, and rewriting of content before binding for distribution. The technical writer would be our single source for a documentation specialist, creating and updating company paperwork related to HR, H&S, Operations and developing technical staff.

**Specific Duties**:

- Policy Writing
- Development of Instructional Manuals
- Process Documentation
- Development of Training Material
- Technical Editing and Proofreading

**Specifically speaking, the job requires the creation of documentation including but not limited to the following**:

- HR Policy Manual Formulation
- Operations Manual (workflows and Process Management)
- Recruitment Policy: Internal and External
- Job Postings & Job Descriptions
- Onboarding and Offboarding Policy
- Health & Safety Policy Manuals

**Requirements**:

- Contract position only (Freelance preferred over agencies)
- Based on billable hours - Please provide your rate when responding with your resume/interest
- Bachelor of Arts, Technical Communication, Scientific Writing or Journalism; Technical writing certification is an asset
- It is the expectation that the writer come with the software and hardware needed to effectively achieve the quality and format desired.
