Epic Technical Writer

**Job Title/Role: Epic Clarity Report Writer**
**Term: Long Term Contract**

**Mandatory Skills**
- EC - Epic Certification (preferred)
- Clarity Data Model “Module” Certification
- Clarity Data Model - Intermediate “Module” Certification

**Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrates advanced knowledge and ability to develop and troubleshoot SQL scripts, Crystal reporting and other reporting technologies from database resources to deliver custom reporting that meets the needs of the business unit.
- Collects information regarding potential report enhancements and functionality needs. Prepares details of specifications as needed.
- Applies proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve report issues to maximize system potential.
- Prioritizes and implements requested reports and changes and analyzes new functionality in releases to determine how it should be used.
- Clearly documents all reports with Report Name, use, owner, purpose, specifications, database, data fields and other pertinent data points necessary to create a report databank.

**Required Experience**:

- Epic Clarity Data Model Certification( Revenue Cycle OR Clinical)
- 3+ years’ experience with Epic Clarity
- 3+ years’ experience with SQL, SSIS
- 3+ years’ experience with advanced reporting
- Epic PB (professional billing) or HB (Hospital Billing) strongly preferred
- Knowledge of data warehousing
- Tableau or similar visualization tool is a plusKnowledge and experience with Cognos or other BI Tools (e.g. Tableau, etc), relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, SQL, Stored Procedures) a plus

**Qualification & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Operations Research, or related field
- 4-7 years of progressive development experience
- In Lieu of degree, 8+ years of progressive development/analytical experience
- Experience working with a hospital/large healthcare system
- Deep understanding of SQL Server with a strong ability to write SQL queries, making reports & developing tables
- Strong experience Epic & Epic Clarity specifically

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- EC - Epic Certification (preferred)
- Clarity Data Model “Module” Certification
- Clarity Data Model - Intermediate “Module” Certification
- Universe Design Fundamentals Certification
- Clarity Administration Certification
