We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Development Officer to join our fundraising team. The Development Officer will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of gift prospects and donors to support HOPE International’s mission

Reporting to the Director of Development (DOD), the Development Officer (DO) will work closely with the DOD to develop, implement, and enhance strategies to grow revenue across Western Canada region.

The DO is responsible for developing and managing HOPE’s donor portfolio in Western Canada. Implement best practices in major and annual fundraising to increase participation to increase donor participation. Fundraising goals will be developed in partnership with the DOD.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- The primary role is to develop and implement a strong fundraising strategy in western Canada for HOPE International
- The DO will develop and manage regional strategies for donors and prospects, ensuring effective use of resources, identifying/pursuing new sources of funding, while ensuring optimal fundraising outcomes in accordance with ethical fundraising principles.
- The DO will assist the DOD and the development department to develop and implement donor cultivation and acquisition approaches. Ensuring that donors are taken on a journey of transformation.
- The DO will promote & attend HOPE International’s local events.
- The DO will promote and develop Annual, Monthly, Legacy and Major Giving.
- The DO will support the development department outside the assigned region as necessary.

**Qualifications**:

- You have a demonstrated commitment to the values of compassion, action, and people that embody the work of HOPE International.
- Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in fundraising or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Have 2+ years’ experience in fund development.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, cultivate, and solicit gifts from major gift prospects and donors.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a positive and collaborative attitude.
- Knowledge of fundraising database systems (NXT Raiser’s Edge an asset), with experience in managing donor data and reporting.
- You are able to work and encourage others to work, cross-functionally and collaboratively, with a people-centered perspective and generous mindset.
- You have knowledge of marketing principles and practices.
- You are able to work flexible hours; some evenings and weekends. You can travel 25-30% of the time.
- You are a team player who genuinely cares for people and desires to deliver on our objective to double our impact by 2030.

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
