**Responsibilities**:
The Intermediate Technician - Landscape will be responsible to:
- Coordination with city inspectors to ensure the protection of vegetation prior to and during the development process and monitor the health of landscape features following development up to the warranty date. Attend site meetings, including pre-construction meetings to work out logistics.
- Ensure compliance with city standards and conditions of approval by monitoring and inspecting commercial, industrial, and residential development, including multi-residential development.
- Participate in interim and final site inspections with city inspectors, noting all deficiencies and mud and dust problems on site. Follow up on site deficiencies and site clean up to ensure compliance. Carry out compliance inspections on an ongoing basis. Can refuse any substandard work.
- Investigate and respond to complaints, requests for actions, legal compliance request forms and inquiries from elected officials, solicitors, developers, builders, the public and staff.
- Administer development agreement and entrance permit systems including issuing tree removal permits for public property, receiving fees and landscaping securities and inspecting works.
- Release or reduce performance and landscape securities and curb/mud bond deposits in coordination with city inspectors and other internal stakeholders. Advise Finance Department to take appropriate action.
- Attend weekly site plan committee meetings and liaise frequently with other departments and the applicant during the development review process.
- Prepare correspondence and reports to committee and council.
**Requirements**:
The successful applicant must be a graduate of a Landscape Design/ Technician program from an accredited University or College and hold membership in the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects. Additionally, this role requires at least three years of related work experience, ideally in a municipal setting. A strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and customer service skills are required. This position may require occasional travel between sites and/or City facilities. Must have access to a vehicle.
