The Symptom Management Program integrates patient-reported outcome measurement (PROM) into cancer care. The Experience and Engagement Program measures patient and provider experience in cancer care and the Oncology Nursing Program aims to improve the access to and quality of oncology nursing in Ontario.

Reporting to the Manager, Symptom Management, Experience and Engagement and Oncology Nursing, the Specialist will be an enthusiastic self-starter and team player who will thrive in a challenging, multi-dimensional work environment.

As part of this role, they will be responsible for supporting multiple provincial program committees, developing symptom management algorithms, and supporting the patient and family advisor (PFA) community.

Here is what you will be doing:
- Supporting programs’ provincial committees, advisory councils, communities of practice, and working groups- Supporting the cancer PFA Committee including onboarding new PFAs, liaising with programs recruiting PFAs to advise on their work and supporting the operations of the Committee- Leading working groups to develop symptom management algorithms- Supporting and coordinating meetings for internal and external groups, including organizing meeting logistics (currently via teleconference), preparing meeting materials, tracking action items, and ensuring appropriate follow up- Managing multiple projects concurrently within competing timelines- Developing and presenting materials using excellent written, verbal, and graphical communications skills- In consultation with project teams, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and preparing reports, presentations, etc.-
- Planning, developing, and supporting knowledge translation projects, plans, and activities for various evidence-based guidelines and provincial initiatives- In collaboration with clinical experts, conducting literature reviews, surveys, and environmental scans; developing frameworks; and actively participating in the development of recommendation reports- Coordinating project documentation, communications, project schedules and timelines under the direction of the Manager- Updating program webpages, as required- Performing cross-functional tasks and/or other duties within Person-Centred Care, as required

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- Master´s degree (preferred) or undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., epidemiology, health services research, health administration, public health) or equivalent combination of education and experience- Minimum three to five years of related experience in a healthcare environment is preferred- Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups, building relationships, facilitating discussions, solving issues, and helping implement change- Experience managing several concurrent projects in a cross-functional team and prioritizing activities to meet deadlines- Demonstrated ability to complete complex, detail-oriented activities- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a self-directed manner with mínimal supervision, and as an enthusiastic team player- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, use good judgment in assessing difficult situations and sensitive conversations- Comfortable working in a dynamic fast-paced environment with a degree of uncertainty or ambiguity

Knowledge and Skills- An in-dept understanding of the Ontario health care landscape- Strong skillset in data analytics, evidence-based decision making, and storytelling through data visualization- Knowledge of performance measurement, metric development, and reporting practices- Excellent writing skills, including the ability to prepare briefing notes, reports, proposals, and evidence summaries- Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver effective presentations- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills- Able to clearly and concisely articulate key messages that resonate with different stakeholders and audiences- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint
