Alberta's international and domestic offices play a vital role in advancing Alberta's priorities by strengthening awareness of our province, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to support advocacy efforts to advance Alberta's interests and profile, promoting and facilitating investment attraction, and enhancing trade relations. These offices are critical in delivering programming and services in support of the Government of Alberta's (GoA) priorities in international and domestic markets. They work on behalf of Albertans and in partnership with GoA ministries that share domestic objectives.

Working within this context, this Executive Support position supports Alberta's Senior Representative to Ottawa to establish and maintain contacts with senior level officials and politicians at the provincial and federal level in the region to advance Alberta's interests in Ottawa.

**Role Responsibilities**:
This is an exciting opportunity to advance the priorities of Alberta and undertake a broad range of executive and administrative support to the Senior Representative. You will gain valuable experience supporting the human resource and financial operations of the office, scheduling, managing expense claims, purchasing, accounts payable and other accounting duties. You will also have the unique opportunity to carry out special projects alongside the Senior Representative.

As the Executive Support Administrator in this role, you will support Alberta Senior representative:

- Coordinate correspondence directed to the Alberta office, in accordance with applicable departmental guidelines and protocols
- Under the direction of the Senior Representative, you will coordinate and prepare action requests, correspondence, and briefing materials, often dealing with confidential matters pertaining to intergovernmental relations
- Provide executive administrative support to the Senior Representative such as booking meetings, calendar management, supporting key 1GX processes including staffing, ordering supplies and paying invoices as needed, completing expense claims, and managing the office's ARTS system, budgeting, preparing meeting materials, and other similar duties spanning a broad range of executive secretarial and administrative support
- Provide essential administrative services to ensure the effective day to day operations of the office

You will be responsible for managing the information flow of the office by liaising extensively with the offices of Deputy Ministers, Human Resources, Agencies, Communications and other senior department representatives, as well as the offices of senior officials, MPs and MLAs, other provincial and territorial governments, and the federal government. You will also lead the development and implementation of information management and information technology systems and processes within the Senior Representative's office.

To be successful in this role, you will need to maintain extensive knowledge and understanding of:

- Applicable department and government administrative policies, procedures, and guidelines, particularly those pertaining to the offices of senior government representatives and officials and policies around travel for both political staff and public service workers
- Department and division organizational structure, mandate, and services
- Office priorities and issues in order to balance client and stakeholder demands against the Senior Representatives limited time available for meetings and discussion
- Impact of applicable acts and related legislation and division operations including FOIP
