**About Us**:
Environment and Protected Areas support Albertans in being proud stewards of air, land, water, and biodiversity by leading the work required to support environmental outcomes and sustainable development of natural resources.

**Role**:
This is a 14-month temporary salaried position in Environment and Protected Areas, Deputy Minister’s Office (DMO), reporting to the Chief of Staff (CoS).

The Executive Support will provide comprehensive administrative support to the executive office by:

- researching information and composing correspondence for the DM's signature;
- preparing, forecasting and monitoring budget and contract expenditures;
- ensuring accurate records and file management;
- researching and preparing background material for executive meetings;
- monitoring, tracking and negotiating timelines on all Action Requests (ARs);
- responding directly to day-to-day administrative inquiries on behalf of the DMO; and maintaining the calendar of and scheduling appointments and making travel and other arrangements for the DM, as required.The Executive Support acts as a resource to other administrative support staff within the DMO/or department by providing advice and assistance on ARs. At the request of the CoS, the position may also carry out routine or other administrative special projects to support DMO operations.

The Executive Support receives and processes highly confidential and sensitive information and demonstrates excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. They provide support in a highly professional manner with a high degree of autonomy, diplomacy, tact and confidentiality.

**Requirements**:

- High School Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, Accounting or related. Two years’ progressively responsible related experience in Office Administration.**Equivalency**:Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- one year of education for one year of experience; or one year of experience for one year of education.**Assets include experience with**:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills applied in drafting/composing varied correspondence and briefing papers suited to the target audience including individuals at different levels of government and the private sector.

- Experience in SAP/SuccessFactors and/or Action Request Tracking System (ARTS) is desirable.

**Salary**:
$1,989.45 - $2,663.53 Biweekly ($51,924 - $69,518 Annually)

A salary review is in progress and may result in this salary being increased on September 1, 2023.
