**Working as Coordinator, Residence Community Management**

Reporting to the Supervisor, Residence Life - Community Support, the Coordinator - Residence Community Management is key in fostering residential learning environments that are specific to the diverse needs of the community and include the following:

- the provision of educational programs and support services to help students succeed in a communal living environment;
- the oversight of the day-to-day residence conduct system; the development and enforcement of appropriate community standards;
- the provision of direct coaching and training to student staff as they work to resolve minor conduct concerns;
- an enhanced knowledge holder of restorative and restorative justice principles and practices; and resolving student conduct issues so that both personal and residence concerns are addressed, thus supporting the academic pursuit of residents.

**Duties**
- Provides overall management of day to day community management activities and the residence conduct process, including:

- addressing behaviour contrary to the Residence Community Standards Policy (e.g. noise complaints, conflicts between roommates, etc.);
- by listening to all perspectives and developing resolutions with students that repair identified harms;
- managing records of student conduct issues;
- conducting investigations as needed;
- making decisions to the outcome of incidents, and writing decision letters to communicate those decisions.
- Directing student staff to address conduct concerns when appropriate, including providing coaching and guidance.
- Serves as a resource to the department by being well versed in the residence conduct processes and policies/documents that dictate those processes, such as the Residence Community Standards Policy and Residence Agreement as well as the Student Conduct Policy and Sexual and Gender-based Violence Policy
- Works closely with the Supervisor, Residence Life
- Community Support and Manager Residence Life and education in instances of serious behaviour that requires consideration for outcomes (such as eviction) under the Residence Agreement
- Provides ongoing support to various residence life training and orientation programs for staff and students alike
- Coordinates development and delivery of programs and opportunities (consistent with the University's academic plan) that foster student growth, with respect to successful communal living and appropriate student conduct in Residence.
- Coordinates with other Departments and University staff concerning projects and student issues in both the residence community and for the residence system at large.
- Maintains an intimate connection to student life in the residences so as to be a known presence in the community and so that student needs are understood and can be articulated to other internal and external University departments.
- Shares cross-campus, after-hours emergency standby and callback duties with fellow Coordinators in residen
