Highlights of the job

We are hiring a full-time, permanent **Consultant, Talent Development** position working out of Edmonton, AB.

The Consultant, Talent Development’s key accountabilities include consulting, coaching, and facilitation in areas such as leadership development, succession planning, and talent review and team development.

What you’d be responsible for
- Ensuring an appropriate understanding of the HR strategic plan, the L&D operational plan, and the needs of Operations so to provide and influence input towards the Talent Development strategy.
- Developing and implementing deliverables that meet or exceed quality expectations within the context of the Talent Development business plan.
- Identifying the resources and budget requirements for new programs.
- Following the L&D curriculum design process when developing programs.
- Developing, implementing and/ or improving programs such as succession planning, competency development, EPCOR’s core behaviors and values, learning and development plans, and career development.
- Using a variety of innovative and creative virtual or in-class tools and delivery methods, to support and enable the delivery of development programs.
- Partnering with leaders and other stakeholders to analyze and clarify complex program issues and objectives so to develop strategies and plans to enhance career development.
- Facilitating coaching conversations and learning programs in alignment with talent development standards and adult learning best practices.
- Supporting EPCOR’s internal learning and employment brand that is inclusive and learner centered; developing learning programs and leadership experiences, that creates deep understanding and shifts behaviors, in the interest of creating a people-centered culture focused on belonging, learning, growth, and high performance.
- Developing and tracking metrics to make recommendations for EPCOR leadership development initiatives. This includes ensuring:

- Alignment of programs with the L&D business plan,
- Alignment of program outcomes with observable and measurable gaps in EPCOR’s leadership competencies based on data,
- Alignment with EPCOR defined values, competencies and behaviors.
- Maintaining confidentiality when working with information about employee succession planning, employee performance, results of psychometric assessments, etc.
- Identifying opportunities of improvement and implementing solutions for current business operations.

What’s required to be successful
- A Degree in Leadership, Adult Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or related; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- 5+ years in Human Resources, Learning and Development, or similar field; experience in leadership positions are preferred.
- Experience and skillful in strategic collaboration, facilitation, and coaching leadership.
- Deep understanding of the linkages between learning, leadership, culture, change, organizational effectiveness, and engagement.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver learner-centered programs and initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage internal stakeholder and external consultant relationships and deliverables.
- Able to work confidently and credibly with executive management.
- Proficient at collaborating with customers and stakeholders with different leadership and communication styles and preferences.
- Exceptional group facilitation skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, systems-thinking and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- _ CHRP designation is an asset._
- _ Experience in similarly regulated, _operations-driven organizations._
