We are looking for a creative, collaborative, and outcomes-focused Learning and Development Consultant to join the Talent Development and Learning team and support learners across the City of Edmonton. We have two positions available.

Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Leadership Development Programs, you will function as a corporate learning and development consultant, helping to manage, create, deliver learning opportunities and provide learning consultation services to enhance the competencies and broaden skills and perspectives of both individuals and teams.

Within the programs and learning supports we offer, we have two key focus areas: learning that builds capacity for all employees in the City of Edmonton and leadership development which focuses on programs, tools and supports to increase the capacity and skills of those who lead others.Your success will be measured by your ability to achieve results in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way.

With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will be responsible for:

- Learning program, tools and supports: lead and coordinate a portfolio of corporate learning programs (e.g. Safety, Diversity and Inclusion, leadership development, professional development, etc ). This includes:

- Identify learning needs and define learning objectives,
- Determine the best learning approaches,
- Design and develop learning experiences,
- Coordinate, administer, deliver, and evaluate learning programs, and
- Continuously enhance learning opportunities based on changing needs and feedback
- Learning and development consultation: You will support clients with a variety of strategic learning consulting services, advice and support. This includes:

- Understand your clients’ business and provide consultation and advice to help leaders and employee groups with creative learning solutions that meet their learning outcomes and accommodate operational conditions (e.g. seasonal work, physically dispersed teams, and shift schedules). This could range from helping to develop job aids or tips sheets to the development of an organizational learning strategy for a section or branch
- Learning facilitation: facilitate learning sessions and workshops in a variety of corporate programs on a weekly basis
- Team development: support the effectiveness, cohesion, and alignment of teams using a facilitated developmental approach and assessment tools
- Perform other related duties as required

You enjoy problem solving and finding innovative ways to engage employees in different types of learning beyond classroom training, including online facilitation, Elearning, self-directed learning, learning through others, and experiential learning. You are collaborative, able to make connections between pieces of work and are willing to jump in and support other facilitators, clients, or programs when needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Related undergraduate degree in Arts, Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Social Psychology, Education, Adult Education, or other related discipline; Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Accreditation or coursework/training in HR, organization development, change management, project management, certification in assessment tools, coaching or a related discipline is an asset
- At least five (5) years of related experience implementing complex organization development and/or learning strategies, programs and supports, preferably in a large, complex organization
- Well developed consulting skills with the ability to understand business requirements and needs and help make recommendations and identify solutions that are relevant and effective (and may point clients to a solution other than training)
- Ability to build strong relationships within the team, with clients, and across the organization
- Ability to effectively communicate, influence, and collaborate with a variety of partners and stakeholders including senior leaders, employees at all levels, union representatives, and external organizations
