We are looking for a Learning and Development Consultant to join our Leadership Development programs team, who will help us provide innovative learning and development solutions to develop leadership capacity and support team effectiveness.

This position is in the Organizational Development and Learning Section, where we work hard to create a collaborative and outcomes focused team environment. **Reporting to the Team Lead, Leadership Development Programs, this role is responsible for**:

- Team development - using a facilitated developmental approach to enhance the effectiveness, cohesion, and alignment of leadership teams
- Learning and development consultation - supporting clients with strategic learning consulting services, advice and support. This may include learning design consultation as well as consultation to help business areas define and articulate their organizational learning outcomes.
- Leadership learning programs and tools - overseeing a portfolio of learning programs, tools and supports to help build leadership skills, knowledge and competency. This may include learning programs, facilitated discussions, coaching approaches and leadership assessment tools.

**As a Learning and Development Consultant, you will**:

- Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and partners across the City to develop and implement corporate learning programs and approaches
- Facilitate and moderate workshops, team development approaches, learning discussions and learning experiences
- Consult with a variety of diverse leaders and employee groups across the City to understand learning needs and unique challenges based on business needs (e.g. seasonal employees, dispersed teams, shift schedules, organizational learning needs) to find creative solutions and design/recommend a path forward
- Communicate and engage with senior leaders in the organization, including writing briefing notes, developing proposed approaches and delivering presentations focused for senior decision-makers
- Administer, coordinate, evaluate and continuously improve learning programs, tools and supports
- Find innovative ways to engage leaders in different types of learning beyond classroom training, including online facilitation, e-learning, self-directed learning, learning through others, and experiential learning

**Qualifications**:

- Related undergraduate degree in Arts, Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Education, Adult Education, or other related discipline; Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Accreditation or coursework/training in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Training or a related field is an asset. Additional training in leadership development, organizational effectiveness, project management and/or change management is an asset
- At least five years of related experience implementing complex organizational development, corporate learning programs or leadership strategies, programs and supports, preferably in a large organization
- Experience working with leadership teams through a facilitated team development approach
- Certification in assessment tools is an asset
- Well developed consulting skills with the ability to understand client problems and needs and help make recommendations and identify solutions
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and partnerships at all levels in the organization
- Ability to see the bigger picture and translate business objectives into learning strategies and programs
- Highly developed planning and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including writing and presentation
- Experience facilitating workshops and learning-focused discussions
- Ability to make good judgment and build organizational awareness
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a respectful, inclusive, and service-minded manner
