**Job Description**:
As the Manager of Sales Strategies, participating life insurance, your primary accountability is to lead initiatives in the creation and development insurance sales strategies and supporting marketing collateral used by advisors and wholesalers within Canada Life.

**Role purpose**:

- Support advisors and wholesalers by creating revenue generating, innovative sales strategies that are easy to use, meet their clients’ changing and diverse needs and help drive corporate objectives
- Advocate for insurance wholesale and sales enablement by educating business partners on field perspective and needs
- Strong ability to analyze the competitive participating life insurance landscape. This analysis will feed into the creation of support material for wholesale and field management in their discussions around competitive intel.
- Deliver sales strategy presentations and support other field events to help market products, tools and concepts
- Creation and delivery of wholesale sales training materials
- Collaborate with the field and head office partners to build out advisor packaging and roll-out strategy for sales initiatives
- Lead insurance sales strategies projects from inception to implementation
- Collaborate and partner with business unit leadership, including SVPs, AVPs and other senior leaders to manage expectations, plan work, and solve problems
- Create and deliver sales strategy presentations for wholesaler and advisor audiences
- Provide input into point of sale and illustration tools

**Qualifications and Competencies**:

- A minimum of five to seven years experience in the financial services industry, preferably with some distribution background
- Expert knowledge of the competitive intelligence landscape pertaining to participating life insurance.
- Experienced with training wholesale and advisors on positioning life insurance
- A self-starter who can work independently
- Enjoys a strong team-focused working environment
- A good understanding of non-participating insurance products (Life and LB)
- A university degree supplemented by training in financial services products
- Proven ability to adapt and manage change
- Demonstrated resiliency under pressure
- Proven creative and innovative thinking skills
- Demonstrated collaborator, negotiator, and partner
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
