**The opportunity**

Group Retirement serves the needs of sponsors and members, and market sources helping Canadians save for a better retirement and improve their financial wellness.

The Group Retirement Marketing team is accountable for developing sound marketing strategies to support growth objectives and distinguish Group Retirement as the best-in-class service provider in the Group Retirement industry.

Within the Sales Marketing team, lies a team that works with our sales team to win and retain clients and educate market sources. This team helps ensure we tell a strong, compelling story to potential and existing clients that are selecting a partner for their retirement program.

**Responsibilities**

At this time, we are seeking a Presale Consultant to fulfill the following:

- Act as Project Manager in owning the creation and delivery of sales presentations and request for proposals for group retirement potential and current clients.
- Develop high impact presentations and proposals that will optimize the opportunity to win/retain the business demonstrating experience, listening to feedback, and reflecting a strategic customer focus
- Consult and collaborate with sales, senior leadership, account management, underwriting, operations, design, and marketing team members
- Conduct strategic meetings with all parties to identify and resolve key requirements
- Work closely with Distribution to ensure a clear focus on the customer
- finding opportunities to differentiate group retirement from the competition
- Complete high quality request for proposals, sales presentations, executive summaries and other required sales support collateral that follows brand guidelines and personifies Manulife’s brand
- Provide consultative sales support following a model that provides a consistent experience from request for proposal through to shortlist for each sales opportunity
- Review and identify non-standard requirements to be discussed with business experts and senior management
- Facilitate problem solving of requirements and recommend alternatives where applicable
- Project manage concurrent deadlines
- Attitude for continuous improvement and change. Supervise the overall presale process and quality of output - seeking new ways to innovate and think big in assignments
- Work closely with team members to develop alliances and cross train on various team activities
- Identify trends and bring to Senior Management/Product Development teams’ attention within group retirement

**What we are looking for**
- University education or 2-3 years of marketing communications experience and/or related experience
- Financial services business knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of business needs, and insurance industry practices
- Strong writing capabilities
- Strong analytical, problem solving, strategic skills - ability to recognize issues, outline possible implications and provide solutions
- Strong innovative thinking skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong change management of people and processes
