**Role**:

- Coordinate the program development, delivery and due diligence process for grant and bursary funding.
- Participate in the planning and development of provincial initiatives that relate to legislation, regulations, standards and policies for matters related to growth, supervision, and evaluation of professions and occupations in education.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Coordinate the program development, delivery and due diligence process for grant and bursary funding.
- Participate in the planning and development of provincial initiatives that relate to legislation, regulations, standards and policies for matters related to growth, supervision, and evaluation of professions and occupations in education.
- Lead and/or support projects to support multi-stakeholder or ministry-wide initiatives.
- Coordinate analytical analysis of the teacher workforce.
- Provide research, analysis, and evaluation of data and information pertaining to education issues.
- Other projects and duties as required to meet organizational goals and objectives.

**Problem Solving**:

- Working on collaborative teams to design and implement projects, programs, and processes for quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Analyzing existing standards, programs and services provincially and evaluating these services and programs including recommended or required changes.
- Identifying and facilitating approaches in engaging with First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities that respect differing needs and circumstances.
- Some problems are unique and have never been encountered so have high problem solving skills.
- The Coordinator, Workforce Initiatives is expected to take a broad view of branch matters by identifying issues, recognizing their impact, and developing recommendations and solutions.

- Provides policy and strategic advice and recommendations, receives directions
- Assistant Deputy Minister (and the office of the Assistant Deputy Minister)

**Qualifications**:
A University degree in in related field (Education, Social Sciences, Humanities, Public Administration or business) and a minimum of four years full-time experience in the relevant field. Alternatively, 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.

**Assets**:

- Alberta Permanent Professional Teaching Certificate is an asset.
- Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, partners and clients.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a continuously changing environment and within a team.
- A high degree of knowledge and confidence in using technology is required
