The Muslim Medical Association of Canada is hiring an Event Coordinator to assist with large-scale networking and educational events. This is a part-time, contract role from Sep 30, 2024 to Friday Sep 26, 2025 duration.

**Location**:Remote / Onsite for in-person events (mostly in the Greater Toronto Area)

**In this role, you will support the MMAC Board of Directors in the following**:
- Coordinate the comprehensive planning and execution of large-scale networking and educational events and conferences (100-500 attendees), including but not limited to program development, venue and third-party vendor logistics, speaker and sponsorships management, marketing, budgeting, attendee management, and ticketing.
- Liaise with the respective event and conference team leads and the MMAC Executive Assistant for information technology/audiovisual needs, marketing, advertising, volunteer coordination, and engagement with community organizations, special guests, and sponsors.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure event-planning and deliverables are proceeding according to plan, and within a pre-approved budget.
- Create and disseminate digital and print promotional material, programs and other event-related materials
- Plan and coordinate online seminars, breakout sessions, and interactive components (polling, audience response system etc.)
- Retain minutes for event-related meetings
- Have prior experience in planning and organizing meetings, conferences, and events
- Be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Be highly detail-oriented, organized, punctual and efficient
- Open to constructive feedback and able to adapt to dynamic needs
- Have strong oral and written communication skills
- Have strong interpersonal, advertising and marketing skills
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a diverse team
- Possess the following technical skills:
- Strong command of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Adobe Acrobat
- Google G-Suite Workspace (i.e., Drive, Docs, Sheets)
- Social media page management (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.)
- Graphics design (e.g. Canva or other professional graphic design software)
- Online meeting/webinar hosting and management e.g. Zoom, Google Meet
- Online ticketing setup (e.g. Eventbrite, Yapsody etc.)
- Experience working in mental health, medical education, or healthcare events
- College or University education completed
- Technical skills:
- Photography & photo editing
- Videography & video editing
- YouTube - managing videos, playlists, channels
- Bilingual Preferred (English/French)
- Interest in Mental health is an asset
