**Administrative Assistant**

BioScision Group of Companies is looking for an Administrative Assistant. Due to the nature of some of the samples processed in the laboratory, applicants must be comfortable working around strong scents (cannabis, agricultural, various bodily fluids). Must be able to pass WHMIS training, a criminal record check, and a reference check.

**Reporting and Supervision**
- This position is supervised by the Laboratory Manager and Chief Financial Officer.
- This position reports directly to the Laboratory Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Science Officer.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the office reception area - answering phones and assisting walk-in clients.
- Bookkeeping; preparing and sending invoices, financial statements and reports.
- Receiving and tracking payments from clients.
- Receive and log samples for all departments as they arrive.
- Inspect samples to ensure sample integrity is retained and that packaging is not compromised.
- Deliver samples to proper storage area to await analysis and informs the appropriate department.
- Data entry of client and sample information into the LIMS system.
- Operate and maintain office area equipment and supplies.
- Organizes electronic calendars and meetings; prepares necessary meeting agendas, minutes, and reports.
- Filing of completed laboratory paperwork.
- Ensure all documents and records are maintained and organized.
- Perform other administrative duties as required.

**Qualifications**

Education and Experience:

- Completion of a formal training program in office administration from a recognized institute is required.
- Two years of office administration experience is required.
- Experience in bookkeeping, customer service and financial reporting is required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills And Abilities:

- Exceptional verbal, written, critical thinking and inter-personal skills are required.
- Must be highly organized and be able to pay strong attention to details.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
- Must have advanced skills in Office 365; experience with QuickBooks is preferred.
- Experience with LIMS software or electronic laboratory notebook is preferred.
- Ability to understand scientific terminology is preferred.

**Compensation**
- Full-time permanent position; 40.00 hours/week; Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 CT.
- Starting wage commensurate with education and experience.
- Enrollment in the company’s benefits plan (Extended Health & Dental).

**Salary**: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

- Winnipeg, MB R3Y 1G4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (required)

**Experience**:
