The Human Resources Specialist will be key in supporting People Services through the creation and maintenance of organizational development programs and policies that target employee engagement and end-to end employee experience. They will assist with overseeing internal/external training & development, as well as assist with junior level recruitment as necessary.

**Job Summary & Duties**
- Provide coaching and resources to Employees and Supervisors with respect to policy and procedure, compensation and benefits, staffing initiatives, performance management and employee relations
- Assist with People Services related projects; participating in and oversee (i.e. Onboarding, new selection tools, etc.)
- Assist with recruitment & selection of senior roles
- Assist with Bi-weekly Payroll review and reporting, Enter high level changes in payroll
- Deliver Annual Initiatives such as Performance and Compensation Review process, Employee Engagement Survey
- Point of Contact for Group Benefits Plan, WCB, etc.
- Training and DevelopmentAdministrative tracking and processing of employee training and development activities.

Curation of internal employee and leadership training resources and integration into a Learning Management System.
- Complete People Services Analytics and Reports, ie. New Hire Orientation and Recruitment
- Actively participate in, supporting or leading People & Culture related projects (i.e., compensation benchmarking, HRIS roll out or improvement, new selection tools, etc.)

**Job Specifications**

**Education**: A certificate or diploma in Human Resource Management is considered an asset.

**Experience**:
Minimum 3 years’ progressive experience in Human Resources capacity;
Minimum 3 years’ supporting an organization or business unit with Employee Relations issues;
Experience with payroll related inquiries related to Employment Standards and best practices; and

**Formal training/certifications/licences**: Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation would be considered an asset.

**Required competencies/knowledge/skills/abilities**:

- Has general knowledge of Human Resource functions related to Recruitment & Selection, Benefits and Payroll Management and Compensation & Benefits
- Knowledgeable and familiar with federal and provincial employment standards and employment legislation’
- Demonstrated excellence in multi-tasking, time management, and prioritizing competing priorities within a fast paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite;Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Has a strong grasp on business ethics and ethical workplace behavior;
- Ability to effectively communicate with management and employees;
- Ability to deal with conflict and establish a cooperative environment; and
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
