Job description

Alberta Retina Consultants was established in 1998 to meet the retina needs of Albertans. Eight retina specialists work together, within Alberta Retina Consultants, to provide seamless care to our patients. These specialists, Dr. Mark Greve, Dr. Brad Hinz, Dr. Matt Tennant, Dr. Chad Baker, Dr. Riz Somani, Dr. Dave Ehmann, Dr. Mark Seamone and Dr. Paul Grewal. Each hold educational appointments at the University of Alberta, while also involved in ongoing retina research. The clinic staff assist the physicians in providing outstanding retinal care to all patients.

**The Opportunity**:
**Human Resources Assistant**

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is willing to learn and is capable of being a self-starter. You must be committed to supporting our staff in this busy medical practice and have a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

**Responsibilities**:

- Recruitment of clinic staff, including job posting, screening, arranging and managing interview process, reference checking, etc.
- Management of onboarding and orientation process
- Maintain Personal Files
- HR administrative duties, including preparing contracts and submission of salary details
- Remaining current with human resource strategies and best practices
- Assist with Mat leave and Sick Leave processes
- Management of Performance Review Process
- Provide counsel and support to Managers in managing performance. Assist with progressive counseling, action plans and documentation.
- Staff coaching
- Investigate and resolve employee relations issues
- Update and maintain HR Policy and Procedures
- Educate surrounding Health & Safety awareness and legislation requirements including supporting the development of effective Health & Safety practices
- Other HR & Administrative tasks, as required

**Qualifications**
- Post Secondary Education in Human Resources
- CPHR designation is considered a strong asset
- Understanding of provincial legislation is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 30-40 per week

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- No weekends
