Parking Services strives to provide our University Community and visitors, with coordinated and well-maintained parking and transiting infrastructure. We are dedicated to courteous and helpful customer service through information resources, polite and knowledgeable staff, and convenient parking facilities. We have collaborative initiatives with the office of sustainability such as go transit, carpool parking, and secure storage and bike locker rentals to meet storage needs for green transit users.

Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Parking Services the Manager, Parking Services will review the current parking structure, systems, and operations and develop a plan to modernize parking services. The Project Manager will oversee both the Parking Administration Manager and the Parking Operations Supervisor and will report directly to the Director of Parking Services.

Accountabilities:
The Manager, Parking Services will:

- Oversee parking operations for approximately 4,400 parking spaces in 21 parking lots throughout campus and includes off campus locations (DBHSC, OJN, and RJC, 10 Bay) focused on the goal to provide front line services to faculty, staff, students and visitors focused on improving the customer service, satisfaction and experience.
- Ensure existing policies and regulations are administered in a fair, impartial, consistent and timely manner.
- To manage and budget assigned accounts, (i.e. revenue / expenses accounts, fines and meters) and project fiscal results and make adjustments to current and long term budgets.
- Parking Strategic Master Plan Operations:

- Overhaul of the complexity of the parking system, working with external partners
- Implementing the Parking Strategic Plan linked to Campus Master Plan and work with Design & Construction on the overall university commitment to parking space availability within the Campus Plan
- Parking Administration Committee to review all requests ticket appeals etc.
- Reduction and Review of permit types and classifications
- Extension of Parking Services customer service options and hours of coverage to meet customer service needs,
- Implement a Contractor permit assignment process for consistency of access to permits and reasonable locations to support construction and renovation needs,
- Review, Plan and Implement technology upgrades to enhance credit/debit/tap and bar coding options,
- Staffing review and job function analysis to identify streamlined services in a one-stop-shop model,
- Review the changing requirements for part-time permit availability and enhanced payroll deduction in support of continuing hybrid return to work models,
- Enhanced EV access in support of sustainability efforts, and
- Upgrade in a maintenance program to address disrepair and deferred maintenance

Qualifications:
Degree in business administration or equivalent

**Experience**:
The Manager, Parking Services should possess and demonstrate superior knowledge of the parking process, systems and technology with over 5 years of effectively managing or supervising the staff providing parking services,5 to 8 years experience in Parking Operations with working knowledge and understanding of institutional traffic and parking issues.

Knowledge and Skills:
The Manager, Parking Services must possess a thorough knowledge of both Parking Administration and Parking Operations including but not limited to:

- A working knowledge of McMaster University structure and parking policies and regulations
- Ability to react to demands within difficult time constraints,
- Addressing difficult persons and the ability to control and diffuse difficult, confrontational situations
- Must be objective and flexible in a constantly changing environment
- Possess strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Computer skills including Excel, Word and Power Point hardware and network
- Certificate in Parking Facility Management
- Professional certification from the Canadian Parking Association
