**Purchasing and Logistics Assistant/Coordinator Job Description**

As a Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator at Summit Tools Company, you will be responsible for ensuring coordination between Purchasing department, Freight forwarders, Customs Brokers, and our overseas vendors. The position will monitor and coordinate the daily movement of imported ocean shipments and their assigned port(s), troubleshoot problem shipments, discuss with management, formulate solutions, and notify appropriate stakeholders. This includes managing relationships with drayage companies to avoid storage/demurrage fees, and recommending processes and concepts to improve efficiency, cost savings and profitability.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Maintain precise records of the purchase orders, payments, production process, bookings with freight forwarders, customs clearance, and movement of shipments from vendors to our warehouses.
- Purchasing & Logistics coordinator work closely with suppliers, customs brokers, and fright forwarders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. Specifically, Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator will:

- Update systems as information available to reflect current status.
- Correspond with the Accounting department for payments to vendors(Advance payment if any and final balance)
- Follow up and liaise with suppliers, customs brokers, and freight forwarders regarding shipping documents.
- Print and distribute shipping documents.
- Keep a record of all shipping documents for insurance and audit purposes.
- Assist with other import/logistics tasks as required.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Minimum 2 years experience in related position with Certificate in International Logistics/Transportation
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and think outside the box for ways to improve in a fast-paced work environment to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to follow detailed instructions as well as communicate and correspond in a professional manner in a strong team environment. Solid English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain systems and processes for entering, creating, storing, and accessing information and documents.
- Ability to work within deadlines. Uses time and resources effectively by planning and scheduling work according to priority and availability of resources.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- A positive attitude, with the ability to communicate and interact with vendors and colleagues in a professional manner.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
