The **Logistics Specialist** plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the flow of goods and materials within a company and to customers. This individual is responsible for coordinating transportation, movement of inventory, and distribution activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. The Logistics Specialist will constantly find improvement opportunities and collaborate with various departments to streamline processes, monitor inventory levels, and address any issues that may arise during the supply chain journey. This position is based in Burnaby Head Office and will serve as a corporate resource for all store managers across locations. It will report to the Director of Operations but work closely and be accountable to the Purchasing team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate transportation activities, including carrier selection, scheduling, and tracking of shipments.
- Monitor and manage the movement of inventory to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess.
- Develop a strategy for small item delivery aligned with an e-commerce strategy.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to optimize the procurement and distribution process.
- Utilize logistics software and systems to track shipments, analyze data, and generate reports.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with logistics service providers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve logístical issues, such as delays, damages, and discrepancies.
- Implement and enforce logistics policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies to propose continuous improvements.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or a relevant role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in using enterprise systems and logistics software; Microsoft Office Suite.

This position is full-time and on-site at the Burnaby Head Office location.
