THE ROLE

The Purchaser at ETRO is a vital force in our Operations Team, driving cost efficiency and schedule certainty for our clients through strategic procurement. As our Purchaser, you’ll lead the charge on sourcing equipment and fixtures, crafting purchasing strategies, and building strong relationships with vendors to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries. Your expertise in managing procurement and long-lead items will play a key role in shaping the future needs of our company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Here’s what you’ll get up to as the **Purchaser**:

- Create and manage relationships with suppliers/vendors
- Negotiate contracts and Master Service Agreements to secure advantageous terms
- Source plumbing and electrical fixtures and equipment
- Obtain samples and submittals (including equivalent alternates) and quotations
- Communicate with vendors to determine availability and delivery lead times of equipment to inform purchasing decisions based on project timelines
- Maintain an effective, reliable supply chain and create strategies for increasing supply chain efficiency
- Identify project procurement needs by collaborating with the ETRO Precon and Estimating teams
- Collaborate with Project Directors to maintain project deliverables and schedules
- Manage the procurement process including internal quotations to project teams
- Prepare overall procurement strategy including research and prepare cost/product type analysis for fixture procurement including alternate packages
- Place orders in an organized manner and follow up with vendors on a regular basis to track delivery progress
- Track and report internal key functional metrics and KPIs to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Forecast to predict future demands and monitor industry trends and provide control strategies to mitigate unfavorable events
- Track commodity and material prices to assist in the preparation of procurement strategies
- Communication ETRO’s procurement strategy to project teams

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

On top of your passion to work in a growing business full of professionals in the trade, here’s what we’re looking for:

- Bachelor's degree in supply chain or manufacturing management, logistics, business administration or related field
- Prior experience and contacts in the direct procurement supplier industry
- Foundational understanding of building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)
- 8+ years experience purchasing equipment and coordinating orders with long lead times
- Experience ordering fixtures and equipment locally and internationally
- Experience implementing new purchasing strategies to maximize efficiency
- In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiating terms
- Proficiency in Google suite, with the ability to easily learn new software
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, with ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strategic planning and business development skills
- Outstanding teamwork skills
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
