Happy Stan’s Recycling is looking for an **Accounting Administrator** at our Port Coquitlam location. This is a part-time day-time position with **flexible hours** (up to 12 hours per week).

**About the position**

Reporting to the President of the organization, this role is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements accurately and in a timely manner. The job incumbent is expected to establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

You must have **extensive experience with accounting, financial reporting, **QuickBooks and team management. **Must be accurate, dependable and reliable in handling documents and financial queries.

**Work Hours**: Ranging from a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 12 hours per week (hours may vary depending on project needs)
**Work Schedule**: Monday to Friday with some weekend work (flexible work week optional)
**Pay Rate**: $35/hr to start and $40/hr after 6 months
**Location**: Port Coquitlam/ Hybrid Remote - (option to perform the majority of work from home)

**Duties include but are not limited to**:
**Primary Role**:

- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial data, this includes: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card, cash, and bank reconciliations.
- Plan to budget, prepare monthly and annual reports on expenditures and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Monitors revenue and expenses while coordinating collection, consolidation and review of all financial data.
- Coordinate, plan, collaborate, and perform month & year-end activities.
- Filing of PST, GST, EHT, and WCB returns
- Settling expense claims and queries
- Verify and process invoicing of product sales
- Initiating and processing vendor payments
- Preparing cheque deposit listing
- Regulates internal controls to maintain financial security. and protect the company’s privacy by keeping information confidential.
- Manage and supervise team members in A/R
- Advise staff on the handling of routine and non-routine financial reporting transactions.

**Secondary Role**:

- Prepare and provide KPI and specialized Excel reports
- Prepare semi-monthly payroll data and resolve discrepancies
- Calculating wage subsidies as and when required
- Meets and exceeds accounting and financial objectives by using forecasting tools.
- Develop accounting tools and processes to support evolving needs.
- Respond to financial requests and inquiries from various business areas, external partners, and government agencies.
- Other related duties

**Skills and Requirements**
- At least 3 years of accounting experience in a similar level
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks & other AI tools
- Excellent math and analytical ability
- Adherence to laws and confidentiality guidelines
- Independent, accountable, and reliable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- College or university degree or related certificate/diploma preferred (Accounting, Finance, Business Admin)
- Competent with technology and a fast learner of new software systems
