Project Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional - like you - to support the Centre in achieving its Mission: To educate and support clients as they manage their water systems to safeguard water resources.

Working with various interest holders (e.g., Ministry, First Nations, Centre staff and partner agencies), you will define, develop and implement a program that will meet the needs of all parties and provide the highest level of drinking water/water infrastructure support to First Nations in Ontario. It is anticipated that the first year of this project will focus on defining the needs through research and on developing a proposal for the program, while the second year will focus on the implementation and on building interest and participation in the program.

As **Project Manager - First Nations Water Program, **you will gather information from all interest holders on the requirements and parameters of the intended program, and work collaboratively with the Manager of Strategic Growth and Planning in designing and implementing surveys and focus groups to fully understand identified requirements and needs. Based on these results, you will develop recommendations for the program to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Board of the Centre and, once it is accepted at this level, you will seek buy-in and generate participation from all interest holders.

You will also be expected to implement the approved program, from developing procedures, forms, job descriptions, budgets, and other materials, to coordinating and hosting meetings and organizing launch events, while working with all Centre departments to integrate the First Nations Water Program into the Centre’s portfolio of service offerings.

**Note**:This **24-month contract position **is eligible for remote work.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

This collaborative leadership role calls for an experienced project manager who can communicate in a professional and positive manner with multiple interest holders, and whose profile includes:

- A minimum of a two (2)-year college diploma in Business Administration or an Aboriginal/Indigenous-related field.
- A valid class G driver’s licence (or equivalent) or access to own transportation.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management.
- Good organizational and strong leadership skills to effectively prioritize duties, lead projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to communicate professionally to ensure positive internal and external communication with First Nations, Ministry personnel, Centre staff and all other interest holders.

**STRONG ASSETS**:

- A diploma, certification program, or concentration in Aboriginal/Indigenous Relations or a related field.
- Knowledge of water systems, water infrastructure and Ontario water regulations.
- Prior experience working with First Nations communities, tribal councils, and interest holders.
- Lived experience as a First Nations, Inuit or Métis person.

An equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered.
