The Azad Laboratory focuses on elucidating the molecular and microbial mechanisms of bone and joint infections. We are particularly interested in:

- Developing novel antimicrobial molecules in periprosthetic joint infection (PJI)
- Investigating the interplay between microbial and immune responses in PJI and other bone and joint infections
- Designing and/or evaluating novel rapid diagnostic assays in bone and joint infections
- Studying biofilm development and prevention in chronic bone and joint infections
- Developing Canada's first bone and joint infection specimen repository and database which will yield future translational medicine studies
- Developing animal models of bone and joint infections

**Basic Requirements (Education/Experience)**:

- A three-year college diploma or a BSc degree in a related field
- Less than 5 years’ experience working in a research laboratory.
- Strong background in microbiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry laboratory-work

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- MSc or PhD (or equivalent degrees) in these or similar areas will be given preference

**Contract Details**:
This is a 1-year part-time regular (18.75hrs per week) contract with the possibility of renewal.

**Salary**: Min:$21.278/hr - Max:$30.747/hr
