We are looking for a Device Characterisation Technical Officer to support our Advanced Electronics and Photonics Research Centre (AEP). The Device Characterisation Technical Officer would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

**Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
A post-secondary education in electronics, physics, electro-mechanical or electro-optical systems, or other discipline related to the position.

**Equivalency**:
An equivalent combination of education, training and direct experience may be considered.

**Experience**:

- Significant experience in using electrical and optical characterisation equipment.
- Significant experience in the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic instruments and facilities.
- Significant experience in personal computer interfacing (hardware and software), control of experiments and data acquisition techniques.
- Significant is defined as: minimum of two (2) years of experience.

**Technical Competencies**:

- Solid knowledge of DC and pulsed or high frequency current and voltage sources.
- Solid knowledge of current and voltage meters.
- Solid knowledge of semiconductor parameter analyzers.
- Solid knowledge of manual and automated probe stations.
- Solid knowledge of components and cabling required for high speed and DC electronic device testing.
- Basic knowledge of computer interfacing and data acquisition software (e.g. LabVIEW).
- Basic knowledge of optical power and spectral measurement.
- Basic knowledge of optical fibres and benchtop optical components.
- Ability to Multi-task, manage time and prioritize activities.

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

**Compensation**:
From $58,445 to $80,040 per annum.
