Here is what you will be doing:
- Collaborate with various internal Programs to support high quality patient education resources, including but not limited to:
- Planning projects and requirements from a plain language and health literacy best practice perspective-
- Writing content for patient resources-
- Editing program content to ensure it meets plain language and health literacy standards-
- Updating resources as required to ensure clinical relevance and timely information is available-
- Collaborating with clinical stakeholders to ensure accurate and relevant information is available for patients-
- Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans to support the planning and evaluation of new and existing projects- Provide support and coordination of activities related to the Patient Education Program, including regular committee meetings-
- Maintain contact lists, orientation material and support agenda development and material preparation for committees, working groups, etc-
- Managing multiple projects concurrently within competing timelines- Developing and presenting materials using excellent written, verbal, and graphical communications skills- Coordinating project documentation, communications, project schedules and timelines under the direction of the Manager- Providing support and coordinate meetings for internal and external groups, including organizing meeting logistics (currently via teleconference), preparing meeting materials, tracking action items, and ensuring appropriate follow up- Performing cross-functional tasks and/or other duties within the Patient Education program, as required- A willingness to learn and implement plain language best practices and be open to receiving feedback
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- Master’s degree preferred or Undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline (clinical epidemiology, health services research, Public Health, Information Sciences, Sciences) or equivalent combination of education and experience- Minimum three years of overall working experience, with a minimum of two years recent experience working within the healthcare sector- Experience writing or developing resources for patients and/or care partners- Knowledge and experience with best practices in health literacy is preferred- Experience leading/enabling small to medium-scale strategic projects preferably related to the field of patient education is preferred- Demonstrated successful project management and change management experience- Experience partnering with internal and external stakeholders to advance quality- Demonstrated ability to work, both as a member of a team and independently, using sound judgment- Experience organizing and coordinating small and large meetings for various stakeholders- Proven ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders to establish trust, credibility, and respect
Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (12 month contract)
Salary Band: 4
