Reporting to the Senior Manager Volunteer Resources, Organizational Development and Workplace Mental Health, in the Experience and Inclusion directorate - People and Experience, you will develop and deliver evidence based solutions that foster positive psychological health and safety in the workplace and support CAMH’s strategic goals.

Your mandate as a Workplace Mental Health Specialist is to provide leadership for CAMH in fostering a mentally healthy workplace culture through the prevention of workplace violence, conflict resolution strategies and education.

Specifically, you will:

- Education_
- Develop and deliver education to small and large groups of staff and leaders regarding policies and skills that foster a psychologically safe and healthy workplace culture
- Coach leaders on problem solving strategies with emphasis on collaboration, critical thought, empathy, effectiveness and self-awareness
- Conduct needs assessments and focus groups to formulate training plans based on data
- Workplace Violence Prevention_
- Understand the root causes of workplace violence and work collaboratively with stakeholders to formulate action plans that mitigate the impacts to psychological safety
- Conflict Resolution_
- Consult with leaders and staff to assist in conflict resolution and the creation of action plans that manage contentious or difficult relationships
- Coach leaders on how to approach facilitating difficult conversations on the team; provide consultation to staff and leaders on conflict resolution
- Meet with teams to facilitate discussion that surfaces key issues, action plans solutions, and checks in on commitment and progress
- Culture Building_
- Fostering psychological safety through direct support to staff in the areas of burnout, compassion fatigue and other workplace mental health related topics.
- Lead implementation of select elements of CAMH’s Workplace Mental Health and Wellness Strategy
- Lead program development and implementation of interventions that promote psychological health and safety.
- Analyze data and trends, to identify interventions or preventative measures required
- Draft reports and present findings to leadership committees as required
- Communicate, report, and maintain confidential records on activities situations / outcomes at all times

**Job Requirements**

Your profile as a Workplace Mental Health Specialist encompasses the following qualifications:

- Master’s degree is required
- Registered Health Care Professional with a clinical background in the field of mental health, preferably in Social Work
- 8-10 years of experience; 4-5 years of which are in a clinical discipline and 4-5 years of progressive leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to produce evidence-based education materials reflecting the latest research
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience consulting with stakeholders, identifying needs, and designing, developing and delivering solutions in a wide range of business environments
- Experience facilitating all levels of leaders and staff through complex issues, among reticent participants
- Knowledge of employment legislation such as the Employment Standards Act
- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution in a unionized environment, (hospital environment an asset)
- Demonstrated critical thinking, root cause analysis, and ability to adjust approach based on stakeholders involved
- Superior communication, presentation and facilitation skills
- Mediation skills an asset
- Certification in Psychological Safety/Workplace Mental Health Specialist is an asset
