**The Role**
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable and Receivable department, including managing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, as well as generating key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
- Support management with corporate requirements including but not limited to legal corporate filings, tax implications and planning, government filings and so on.
- Ensure the timely completion of monthly and annual closing procedures and accurate posting of accruals.
- Authorizing cheque payments and wire authorizations
- Develop, enhance, and evaluate internal control systems.
- Generate accounting reports upon request, including statutory and managerial reports.
- Analyze financial information, identify trends, and summarize financial status.
- Ensure the company complies with GAAP principles and other relevant government laws.

**Skills & Experience Required**
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting profession.
- Currently finalist or completing requirements of the Canadian CPA designation.
- Previous experience in overseeing accounting operations, with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Previous experience in cash flow management and forecasting
- Proficiency (Intermediate/Advance) level in Excel
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, encompassing both QuickBooks Enterprise desktop and QuickBooks Online platforms.
- Ability to handle external audits.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly initiative and independently motivated
- Well-organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficiency in managing, mentoring, and enhancing teams, specifically a team of 4-6 accountants.
