Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a **Payroll Specialist **to join our HR team. This role will entail developing and managing the timely payment of both salaried and hourly employees, on a weekly basis.
**Responsibilities**:
- Set up, terminate and update employee information
- Input and process weekly payroll for multiple companies
- Assist with the preparation of source deductions, WSIB and other government remittances
- Participate in annual procedures for all companies including T4, TA and T2200 preparation as well as calculate taxable benefits
- Act as a primary contact for insurance related documents required for subcontractors and customers (WSIB clearance certificates, certificates of insurance, contractor qualification packages, gas cards, etc.)
- Maintaining records and expenses for fleet vehicles, uniforms, and tools
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports
**Requirements**:
- University Degree/ College Diploma with focus in HR/Accounting/Business
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification (or in progress) an asset
- Minimum of 2 years of in-house payroll experience considered an asset
- Proficient in MS office and accounting software
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP an asset
- Demonstrates attention to detail, quality and accuracy in work
- Is able to resolve problems by evaluating options and developing solutions
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to take on other duties as needed
