**Lunenburg County Wheels,** provides pre-booked door to door transportation services for all of Lunenburg County West, providing service to individuals experiencing a barrier to transportation. Our goal is to provide an efficient, reliable, quality transportation service meeting the needs of the citizens of Western Lunenburg County. We are looking for a detail oriented, highly organized individual with exceptional communication skills to join our team as a part time **Administrative Assistant**.
**Admin Job Functions**
As the Administrative Assistant you will be required to perform general clerical work for the office, process incoming and outgoing invoices, create and maintain record keeping systems, schedule appointments, and facilitate communication with LCW clients, calculate daily trip stats from booking schedule and daily trip logs, collect and count fares from the vehicles and reconcile with number of rides, prepare checks for signing as required, maintain files, directing phone calls, responding to inquiries and managing meeting schedules.
The admin assistant will also be providing back-up for the dispatcher when they are on vacation or away from the office. These duties will include:
- Communicate effectively with the drivers, passengers, partners, and the public as required.
- Coordinate the schedules of drivers and transportation bookings, and ensure drivers and clients are advised of any changes in schedules.
- Receive calls and messages for transportation requests and book rides using current software and dispatch software and adjust schedules based on the availability of drivers and /or vehicles.
- Use standard workplace computer software for office administration duties and provincial transportation dispatch software. (looking for high proficiency in Excel)
- Perform basic accounting functions
**Hours of Work**
This position offers Part time _(20)_ hours Monday to Friday and would mostly appeal to a friendly, community-minded person that thrives in a position that requires you to multi-task with minimum supervision. Will require full time hours at times when filling in for the Dispatcher.
**Organizational Credibility**
The admin person will maintain a clear understanding of all programs, services, policies, and procedures of the Lunenburg County Wheels.
**Qualifications**
- Previous administrative experience is an asset.
- Superior attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; reputation for providing excellent customer service.
- Present in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner.
- Proficient with computers using Microsoft Office Suite. (looking for high proficiency in Excel)
- Keen understanding of social media platforms.
- Knowledge of the local area and able to learn community transportation systems.
- Handle small amounts of cash and a cash out procedure at the end of the week.
**Requirements**:
- Self-starter with a keen attention to detail, able to work independently and part of a team.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
