**Position Overview**

The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing time entry through the company ERP (PSA), tracking of absences, and preparation of hours & earnings to be submitted to payroll.

To be successful as a Payroll Coordinator, you must be comfortable working with numbers and communicating with other departments. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and a can-do attitude are all key.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Able to import hours and changes submitted from PSA into ADP Workforce Now
- Ensure all Federal and Provincial laws are followed
- Assist with running bi-weekly payroll while following standard operating procedures
- Verify and process information on new hires, terminations, leaves of absence & top-up payments, address changes, and department changes and WSBC requests for information
- Assist with verification & distribution of all employee tax statements, T2200’s, Tax forms and notifications as required by law
- Provide timely responses to inquiries from Finance, HR, leadership, and employees
- Maintain proper payroll records to support internal and external audits
- Keep current on all payroll-related laws, policies and regulations through on-line and written resources, and attending payroll seminars as needed
- Support vacation coverage when Payroll Manager is away or there is over-flow work due to high volumes/projects
- May be required to assist with Benefits and RRSP administration
- Create ad hoc reports upon request
- Assist with special projects as required

**Requirements**:

- 2+ year experience in payroll
- Experience with ADP or other benefit/payroll software is considered an asset
- Experience with PSA is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Understanding of payroll timelines, practices, and employment laws as they relate to pay
- Post secondary education in human resources, payroll, accounting, or related field an asset
- Proactive mindset and desire to provide exceptional internal customer service
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate professionally and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and follow through
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality

**Working Conditions**:

- Office or hybrid-based role
- Working in front of a computer and on the phone regularly
