What You’ll Do:

- Oversees, coordinates, monitors and participates in daily linehaul planning to and from all areas of the service region.
- Manages operational commitments and expectations of the Customer/Carrier relationship.
- Assigns drivers to linehaul trips by communicating departure time, lane and other related information.
- Creates the daily line-up document with planned trip number, driver, trailer, departure time, temperature settings and routing information.
- Coordinates with Yard Hostler to ensure lineup is set with appropriate trailers in doors.
- Communicates temperature information of the line-up with the Yard Hostler.
- Ensures hired cartage companies have updated Insurance and WCB coverage.
- Contacts and coordinates hired cartage for trips when necessary.
- Attends Dock pre-shift meetings to communicate linehaul planning.
- Creates running orders for all trips departing Coquitlam terminal.
- Completes and authorizes driver sheets and payroll in a timely manner; complying with payroll deadlines.
- Handles and troubleshoots after hours phone calls; primary contact.
- Identifies errors and root causes; recommends corrective actions, procedural improvements and development of productivity measures within scope of responsibility.
- Participates in other related duties and projects as assigned.

Who You Are:

- A professional with successful completion of Grade 12 and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible linehaul and supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Strong knowledge of the Transportation LTL Industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of LTL freight-handling requirements.
- Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Proven ability to effectively lead and manage others, with ability to effectively plan and organize self and others to achieve goals, prioritize tasks, and allocate time and resources accordingly to ensure completion within set timelines.
- Customer focused and responds to inquiries in a timely manner; takes responsibility for meeting internal and external customer requirements and solving problems.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in the performance of all aspects of the position.
- Ability to work the afternoon shift and overtime as required.
