**Accounts Receivable - Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant position**:
The Children’s Village, a non-for profit organization, has a long and distinguished history of caring for Ottawa’s children. Established in 1864 as a home for orphans, it has responded over the years to the changing needs of children and their families in the community. Filled with a rich tradition of working directly with the community, our history is a testament to our commitment to children and the innovative programs they need. CVOC operates a large Licensed Home Child Care Program, several Licensed Care Child Centres, summer programs, Drop-in/Playgroup programs and other support services for parents and providers.

**The roles and responsibilities are as follows**:

- Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as billing, account statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems;
- High volume, full cycle accounts receivables;
- Verify, audit, process, and adjust data in various accounts;
- Responsible for all billing related functions and assigning received payments;
- Processing EFT;
- Contact families regarding any outstanding accounts;
- Prepare monthly reports and accruals as needed;
- Ensure internal controls related to all billing and cash processes are in place
- Enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts receivable, including payments, deposits, invoices and expenses;
- Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems;
- Assist with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing;
- Provide administrative support as required;
- Continuously looks for improvements in operational processes and designs;
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Accounting experience within an NFP environment and a College Certificate or Diploma in Finance or Business Administration;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounting or similar role;
- Must be eligible to work in Canada;
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated flexibility in prioritizing tasks in order to fulfill duties and meet deadlines;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proficient with Quickbooks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to comprehend and communicate in both English and French an asset
- Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination required.

**Salary**: $47,150.00 to $57,400.00 per year including a comprehensive benefit package

**Hours**: 35 hours/week - 7hours/day (Monday to Friday)

**Location of work**: 333 Churchill Avenue North, Ottawa, Ontario, K1Z 5B8
